Paphos Mosaics
The house of Dionysos was a Roman villa, probably dating from the third-century A.D.. The world-famous mosaic floors and walls are considered amongst the finest in the eastern Mediterranean. In the most part they depict scenes from Greek mythology.
The house is situated in Kato Paphos alongside the picturesque harbour and was excavated between 1962 and 1974. It was thought to have been a private house of more than forty rooms in what was a residential area of the Roman town.
